Newcastle United close to new stadium name

The sports retail tycoon is proposing to incorporate the name of the company he founded into the historic stadium to attract sponsors ahead of next season. Newcastle managing director Derek Llambias said: 'Our intention is to have, for instance, sportsdirect.com@St James' Park. We were never going to lose St James' Park; it was always going to be @St James' Park. The Gallowgate has already got sportsdirect.com.
