Cherries: Moles injury is big blow to Eddie

CHERRIES manager Eddie Howe bemoaned the loss of Mark Molesley and then admitted that possible replacements were in short supply. The energetic midfielder is set to be sidelined until early 2010 as he prepares to have surgery to cure a persistent foot problem. With his wafer-thin squad already hit by injuries, Howe has some tough decisions to make ahead of Saturdays FA Cup clash at Chesterfield. Asked about Molesley joining an injury list which already includes the likes of key men Shaun Cooper and Sammy Igoe, Howe said: Its a big blow for us to lose Mark. Were not quite sure until the surgeon goes in how long hell be missing for. Hes a very important player for us because he has the ability to keep the ball, hes very good in tight situations and hes also a scorer and creator of goals. Were going to miss Mark for however long hes missing for. It was always going to be one of the perils of having an embargo you lose someone and you cant replace them. Molesleys injury bombshell follows the Football Leagues decision last week to block an extension to Anthony Edgars loan deal. These setbacks, coupled with existing injury issues, have left Howe scratching his head. It does leave us very short of options out wide, added the Cherries boss. With Mark and Sammy (Igoe) both missing, its caused us big problems on the left-hand side. Were hoping Sammy isnt too far away. But he hasnt done any training yet so a lot will depend on how his knee reacts.
