Cottagers eyeing Heskey - Report

Cottagers chief Roy Hodgson is thought to be lining up a £2million bid for the 31-year-old, who needs to be playing regularly to secure his place in Fabio Capello's England squad for the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa.Heskey, who has been capped 56 times, got a public rap from Villa chief Martin O'Neill recently after complaining of not getting a regular start with the midlands outfit.Hodgson is still thought to be looking for a partner for Andy Johnson in attack, with Bobby Zamora, Diomansy Kamara and Eric Nevland failing to get the goals on a consistent basis at Craven Cottage.Whether a move for Heskey is the answer, given the former Liverpool frontman's poor scoring record over recent years, remains to be seen.
