Just Don't Mention His Name

Jim Duffy will have to find a nickname for his new signing to avoid bringing bad luck to his squad. Clyde manager Jim Duffy has agreed a two-year deal with former Partick Thistle midfielder Ryan MacBeth. The Bully Wee manager knows all he needed to know about MacBeth before offering a deal as the midfielder, who played six times for the Jags before being released by mutual consent 3 months ago, had  played five times for him during a loan spell in early 2011. Duffy said: "I am delighted to be signing Ryan. He came in and joined us for training at the end of last season and I invited him back for pre-season. He has great ability but we needed to check his fitness as he had a few challenges at Thistle. Ryan will boost our options in midfield and I look forward to seeing him feature in a Clyde team again."
