Cherries: Sven's boys still the team to beat says Eddie

CHERRIES boss Eddie Howe has delivered his verdict on the League Two title race insisting Notts County are still rightly regarded as favourites. The moneybags from Meadow Lane boast the shortest odds with all the leading bookmakers, despite trailing leaders Cherries by six points. But given the clubs spending power, Howe thinks they remain the team to beat. Speaking about County, who appointed Hans Backe as their new manager on Tuesday, Howe said: If you look at the resources and squad theyve got, quite rightly, theyre favourites in the eyes of everybody. Thats not to say any team in this division will roll over and let them win it. So if we can stay where we are and maintain our form, well be giving it everything to try to upset the odds. When asked about other teams who have caught his eye, Howe added: Chesterfield were as good as any side Ive seen in this league so far this season and that includes games Ive watched which we havent been involved in. Bury have gone on a good run. They had a little hangover from their play-off disappointment last season but they will be there or thereabouts. There are some good sides, but were a good side as well. Cherries will discover first hand Notts Countys capabilities when they host Backes side in front of the Sky cameras on Monday, December 21.
