Aliadiere set for absence

Middlesbrough striker Jeremie Aliadiere will be sidelined for six weeks following an ankle operation. The Frenchman, who has netted three goals this season, went under the knife in London on Monday after sitting out the 2-2 draw at Preston last Saturday. "He had an arthroscopy and two small pieces of bone were flushed out of his ankle," head of medical Grant Downie told the club's official website. "The operation was a success and I would expect Jeremie to be available to return to training in six weeks."
