Livesey: Abbott was going nowhere

United arrested a run of seven games without a win with a 2-1 triumph over Southend last weekend, providing Abbott with a timely boost. But Livesey, who is leading the Cumbrians in the absence of the injured Paul Thirlwell, never paid any attention to the talk about Abbott's future at Brunton Park."You hear grumblings but there was never any suggestion that he was going to go anywhere," he said."All we could do was to go out and quieten down the doubters, which is what we did against Southend last weekend."That win and a positive result against Charlton on Saturday leaves us in a position where it is all forgotten anyway."
