Andrew vows to earn new deal

The former Luton frontman needed reconstructive surgery on his knee over the summer after suffering a cruciate injury while on loan at Brighton last season.Andrew is in the final year of his contract at Selhurst Park and, after coming through a practice match earlier this week, is looking forward to pushing for a first-team return and proving his worth to manager Neil Warnock."That was my first time with the gaffer and the first-team lads and it went fine. I was a bit nervous at first, coming back from such a long-term injury, but it was brilliant," he said."I'm about a month or two ahead of schedule. You have to be careful but I'm happy to be back."Going into the last year of my contract and knowing I've not got long left to prove a point to get a new contract has been mentally very tough. I've still got a point to prove at this club and hopefully over the remaining months of the season I can do that."
