Ashley sins again! Newcastle not for sale but St James' naming rights are

Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley has admitted defeat in his attempt to sell the troubled Championship club and took it off the market on Tuesday night after failing to find a buyer prepared to match his £80million asking price. Ashley moved quickly to reclaim control of Newcastle, promising to invest an extra £20m this week, and appointing caretaker boss Chris Hughton as his permanent manager, handing him an 18-month contract and ending Alan Shearer's slim chances of returning to the club. All change: Having returned to the top of the Championship at the weekend, Newcastle are now back under the full control of Mike Ashley
