Bent was injured during Sunderland's weekend loss at Birmingham and Bruce feared he could have lost his leading striker for a number months. However, it now seems that Bent has only taken a knock and could be fit to face West Ham on Saturday - but he will not be facing Aston Villa."We hope Darren will be okay for Saturday, but he had a bad knock. He twisted and wobbled everything," said Bruce."It was close to being serious, but we don't think it is, thankfully."Bruce will be relieved by the news on Bent, given that he has lost midfield star Lee Cattermole until the New Year after he damaged knee ligaments against Liverpool earlier this month.
