Cole - It's good to be back

// A bit of a hack but it works// The article snippet is wrapped onto a second line, even when #article-sub is emptyif( $("div#article-sub").children().length == 0 ) {$("div#article-sub").remove();} Chelsea playmaker Joe Cole has sounded his delight after his return to top form in Saturday's thrashing of Blackburn. Having recovered from a serious knee injury suffered in January, the former West Ham star made his first league start and dazzled as Sam Allardyce's side were demolished 5-0 in West London.Chelsea want Cole to become the latest player at Stamford Bridge to commit to a new long-term contract and if his form from the weekend continues that desire is likely to increase. The 27-year-old produced a Man of the Match performance when playing at the advanced point of Carlo Ancelotti's diamond midfield and is now keen to make the position his own.Cole, who is reportedly unwilling to put pen to paper until he is sure that he will be a first-team regular, said: "I'm not going to lie, the position suits me down to the ground. Best position"If I was a manager, I would put myself in that position. I love it. The last time I really played there a lot was when I was at West Ham, and then I wasn't the player I am now. "I am enjoying it. The position suits me down to the ground. I can give options to the team left, right and central. "I will play anywhere, but obviously my best position is where I started my career in the youth team. "Unfortunately I haven't played in a team that has played that system, so I have had to adjust my game and play off the left or off the right. I enjoy it in there. It's more natural for me to play there. "But I'm not going to start saying, 'I want to be playing here, there and every week'. I'm just happy to be playing for Chelsea. "My job is to help this club win something this year. The fact that the manager says he sees that as my best position is great. There are so many positive things at the moment for me to talk about."
