Simpson Cannot Get Better Wages Elsewhere

There could still be a future for Danny Simpson at Newcastle because no club is willing to go higher than £25,000 per week in wages. The 25-year-old and the Magpies have been at loggerheads over a new deal for the last 12 months, and Simpson rejected their latest offer at the end of last season. The problem is - Alan Pardew is going to sign a new right-back this summer and Simpson will be demoted to the bench - so Mike Ashley will not go above £25k for a squad player. Simpson believes he is worth more . but he seems to be the only one. West Ham, Fulham and QPR are all reportedly interested in him, but only on his current wage. Pardew remains optimistic about a deal. Alan Pardew: "He's got a year left on his deal. "He turned down a new contract and that's where we are. "Danny could play the whole season next year. We'll have to see."
