United hero Ryan Giggs set to miss Champions League clash in Moscow

Manchester United are set to be without influential midfielder Ryan Giggs for Wednesday's Champions League trip to CSKA Moscow. Giggs suffered a knock towards the end of Saturday's 2-1 win over Bolton and is unlikely to travel to the Luzhniki Stadium. Manager Sir Alex Ferguson also has doubts over several other key players and told the club website: "Ryan Giggs has got a knock and is a doubt for Wednesday. 'Patrice Evra we'll have to look at tomorrow, he may be a doubt. '(Dimitar) Berbatov, I think, will be all right. Wayne Rooney, we've got to try to get ready for Wednesday. 'I'm hopeful (Nemanja) Vidic will be all right, but he'll certainly be ready for the Liverpool game.' United moved back to the top of the Premier League with their victory over Bolton, but they were forced to hold on in the closing stages. They will all but book their place in the second round of the Champions League with victory in Moscow. For everyone connected with the club, memories will return of their last visit to the Luzhniki Stadium and an emotional European Cup triumph over Chelsea in 2008. Giggs scored a crucial penalty in the shoot-out on the night he beat Sir Bobby Charlton's club appearance record.
