Brown to boost Jozy Cup bid

// A bit of a hack but it works// The article snippet is wrapped onto a second line, even when #article-sub is emptyif( $("div#article-sub").children().length == 0 ) {$("div#article-sub").remove();} Hull City boss Phil Brown has pledged to make striker Jozy Altidore a World Cup star. The 19-year-old is back with the Tigers after helping the USA celebrate qualification for South Africa with a 2-2 draw against Costa Rica. With five USA games under his belt since arriving at Hull on a season-long loan from Villarreal, Altidore has played as many games for his country as he has in the Premier League. But Brown believes Altidore can now put his stuttering start in England behind him and get in tip-top shape for next summer's World Cup finals."He'll get the coaching that's required, he'll get the fitness that's required, we will give him every opportunity here," Brown told the Hull Daily Mail."You cannot motivate players, you can only provide the conditions, but he will have every opportunity to play World Cup football."He'll be stronger for playing in the Premier League and with 20 or 25 games in England, that experience will put him in good stead."Brown admits life has been stop-start for the teenager since his switch from Spain but the Tigers boss is eager to see the best of the youngster."If you count the days he's been here in the two months since he signed, he's probably only spent half of them here. I don't know the lad too well and he doesn't know me or the coaching staff," added Brown."Hopefully now we can see him bed down and find himself a good home here."Altidore's only remaining international commitment in 2009 will come when the USA face Denmark in Aarhus on November 18 before the build-up to South Africa begins in earnest.
