It was expected the former Chelsea boss would start his new role as director of football at Fratton Park on Monday.Grant is to work alongside Paul Hart as the duo bid to drag Portsmouth away from the Premier League drop zone.However, Israeli Grant has been blocked from starting his new job by the Home Office until his permit application has been considered.Pompey chief executive Peter Storrie envisages no long-term problems but accepts it is frustrating.He said: "Avram has not got his work permit yet and there is nothing we can do to speed it up. "He has applied in the normal way and all we can do is wait and see what happens. It is annoying but these things take time."
