McCoist pleased with Miller fitness

The striker has been hampered by a persistent hamstring injury and sought the advice of an expert in a bid to get to the bottom of the problem. He will continue to receive treatment but was back in training at Murray Park on Monday."Kenny is fine," said McCoist. "He was over in Germany seeing the specialist and came back and trained well on Monday."He is in good form and looks fine."It's pretty much an ongoing thing but he is happy with the treatment he is receiving from the lad in Germany."McCoist believes a gruelling run of games for both club and country was at the root of Miller's most recent injury problems. He added: "To be honest, when you look at Kenny's performances in the Scotland games, they maybe just knocked a little bit of the stuffing out of him."I know better than anybody that it's a tough job playing up front for your country and he maybe suffered a little bit from fatigue."He got the rest and we saw his performance against Celtic."Maybe that's something we will have to think of in the future in terms of just looking after him a little bit and treading carefully with him in terms of his training and games."Rangers were forced to field a depleted side for their Old Firm derby win over Celtic but McCoist expects more options for this weekend's visit to St Johnstone now that several key players are available again. He said: "Lee McCulloch is over his bout of sickness and Kevin Thomson trained yesterday as well after suffering from the knee knock."Madjid Bougherra comes back from international duty today and we will have to wait and see how Steven Davis and one or two others are."Kyle Lafferty didn't travel with Northern Ireland but hopefully he will be fine to be involved in the squad for the weekend."It's a lot rosier than it was for the Celtic game." Rangers 1/2, Draw 3/1, St. Johnstone 6/1
