Elliott: Pirates success comes first

Elliott, who is three appearances short of 200 in the league for Rovers, has yet to start a League One game this campaign after tearing a thigh muscle in pre-season.In his absence, Paul Trollope's men have stationed themselves in the upper reaches of the table and Elliott is keen for that to continue - even if it means him staying on the bench."It really has been a very disappointing start to the season for me personally," he told the Bristol Evening Post. "I have been on the sideline champing at the bit to get a chance but the lads have done fantastically well and the team has been winning."I am so pleased for the boys because of the start they have had and the position we are currently in the league is great. It has been bittersweet for me, but I have been in the game a long time and I know my chance will come."I want to play as many games as I can until the end of my career but sulking is not going to improve my chances of doing that. I know that if I get in the team I will want to keep the shirt and I would hope whoever is not in the side would get behind me."
