// A bit of a hack but it works// The article snippet is wrapped onto a second line, even when #article-sub is emptyif( $("div#article-sub").children().length == 0 ) {$("div#article-sub").remove();} Everton's academy chief Ray Hall has revealed that they are looking to become the first Premier League club to sign a Thai player. Manchester City were strongly linked with a move for a number of Thailand internationals during Thaksin Shinawatra's tenure - but they never managed to bring one to the club on a full-time basis. Now Everton - who currently have a delegation in Bangkok - are ready to move for a Thai player.Everton have set up the Thai Bev Football Academy and they will look to nurture the best talent and Hall is confident with how things are progressing."Each year we take a selection of players and do some work with them," Hall told Everton's official website."Just as there are Korean and Chinese players who have been playing in the Premier League, we'd like to be the first club to play a Thai player."It's really difficult because of rules and regulations but I'm sure that the way the whole thing is going, it is just a matter of time."That's the long-term goal. The objective of coming back each year is to help the partnership we have developed in South East Asia, with Chang in particular."We have been coming over for four years; four years ago the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority asked whether we would help establish an academy for them."Each year when we come back as part of our Chang partnership, we take a group of their players and do some work with them."
