Having captured experienced striker Noel Whelan on a non-contract basis earlier this week, Staunton has now brought in Barnett on a month-long deal.Barnett, who can play at centre-back or left-back, will go straight into the squad for Saturday's game against Dagenham & Redbridge.Staunton had also hoped to sign Robbie Threlfall but he has returned to parent club Liverpool after snubbing the chance to join the Quakers."Everyone was happy with the deal with Robbie, but on Friday morning he had a change of heart after talking to Liverpool's reserve team coach," said Staunton."This happens and we move on. I don't want players here who don't want to be here, and we're delighted that Moses was available. We know a lot about him, we knew we needed a left-back and he was one of three players we were looking at."He's a very athletic player, tall and quick, so he should be a good acquisition for us. "We're looking to bring players in from Premier League clubs so hopefully this is a positive sign."
