Hargreaves admits to doubts

The Manchester United midfielder has seen his career blighted by knee problems in recent years, sidelining him for long periods.The England international is currently recovering from a year out of action, with two operations required on his latest complaint.He underwent surgery in America over the summer, where he visited renowned specialist Dr Richard Steadman.He returned to England a fortnight ago and believes he is now edging closer to full fitness.Hargreaves admits there were moments when he feared he may never play again, but he has now set his sights on a return to United's first team in the not too distant future.Targets"I have thought about playing again a lot. It is human nature to have doubts obviously," the 28-year-old told the Manchester Evening News."I had little moments but I never had one moment of major doubt that I'd be back."He added: "It is difficult to say an exact date but I do feel I can see light at the end of the tunnel now."Coming back to Manchester was a big step. Having people from United around me also makes me realise I am getting closer."I am coming back to have a massive effect and to play well and for us to win titles."It is not about getting back for one game or for one day, I want to come back and be back for another six or eight years."
