Seagulls offer deal to defender

The Seagulls took a look at the 17-year-old Lewes prospect over the summer, but he did not do enough to impress. However, he has now been offered a professional contract for the rest of the season after promising performances with the Blue Square Premier side."He had done really well but not enough to make that step," Martin Hinshelwood, director of youth, told the Argus."When he played he didn't impose himself enough and that is why we didn't take him."To be fair to him, he has gone away to Lewes, he has played in their first team in the Conference, he's worked hard at his game and we have seen a vast improvement in him."We felt if we didn't get him back on board we would not be doing the right thing."
