The Toffees followed up their win over AEK Athens in the opening group game with another three points to put them in driving seat in Group I.Moyes was especially pleased with Tony Hibbert after his inspired performance at centre-half.With Joseph Yobo having to pull out late on with a thigh injury, meaning Everton were without nine first-teamers, Hibbert found himself asked to move to centre-half with midfielder Dan Gosling filling in at right-back.The Toffees were not perturbed and won through second-half goals from Marouane Fellaini and Tim Cahill after Dmitry Likhtarovich has blasted BATE into a half-time lead."I thought Tony played really well, it was an outstanding performance by him and he slotted in as I hoped he would," Moyes said."It was a really pleasing result considering the number of players who were not available.Resilient"It was a resilient performance, which in the end allowed us to get the victory. I thought we played better in the first half but we were wasteful with our passing."BATE scored an excellent goal but we regrouped and managed to get the goals we needed."Tim Cahill is always a threat in those kind of situations but he has probably not scored as many goals as he should have done recently."Moyes revealed that he was looking to go far in the competition despite some managers treating the tournament as an unwanted distraction."It's always nice to win away in Europe and this was an important victory," he added."We were hoping to take points early in the campaign and we are now in a good position. We want to stay there and keep progressing in this competition."
