Manchester United open talks with Everton over signing of Baines

Manchester United have opened talks with Everton over the possible signing of England left-back Leighton Baines, according to The Mirror. David Gill has contacted Bill Kenwright and United are reportedly prepared to pay £12million for him.Sir Alex Ferguson is determined to strengthen his squad after failing to win the Premier League title.Baines has been a consistent member of Everton's team in recent years and is in no rush to leave Goodison Park.
