Leon Best Dreams Go Up In Irish Smoke

Leon Best has never really been part of Giovanni Trapattoni's Euro plans . with the Italian describing him as "not as good as others I have up front - he doesn't run much." The Toon striker suffered a serious injury earlier in the season, and although he has warmed the bench in recent games, he has not played a part in Alan Pardew's side for months. So it was always a gamble expecting a call up, but Best insisted he would put himself in the running. However, with Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse setting the Premiership alight . he has not had any match time. The 73-year-old Italian has named his Ireland squad for the Euro 2012 finals.
