Gordon Taylor on PFA Young Player of the Year nominee: Gareth Bale

"When you think how long it took him to settle at Spurs and for one reason or another he wasn't in a winning team for some time - then he suddenly arrived with the European competition last season, and for Wales. He has been top class. It was inevitable some of the performances couldn't be as high as last season but he is still in there. He has got phenomenal pace and attributes. He is top quality and I just hope he can maintain that."He is brilliant. That left side of the field is always a difficult one. Many managers have found that side difficult to sort out but he can do it all up and down all along that left flank. Harry Redknapp will be delighted with him and he'll be disappointed as I am, and a few of the Tottenham supporters, that what looked like being a really good season looks to be tapering off at the end. But that doesn't mean to say the quality isn't there. That will remain for ever and I am hoping next year it will be there again.[Playing at the Olympics]"That would be brilliant. If he wants to play, and I hope he does, I think he should be given the opportunity. It would be really good to see the likes of Gareth play. He fully deserves to be in a Great Britain team."
