Grimsby date for pre-season

Scunthorpe's first confirmed game of pre-season will be a derby with non-league neighbours Grimsby Town on Tuesday July 24. The match is a Lincolnshire Senior Cup semi-final, with the winner going on to face Lincoln City in the final.Although not seen as a key tournament for participants, the Iron have been crowned winners 17 times and shared the trophy on two occasions.The competition was last won by Scunthorpe in the 2010-11 season, with the Mariners ending a five-year winning streak with a penalty shootout win over the Iron this year.
