Redknapp made several changes for the match at Deepdale but Spurs avoided an upset thanks to a devastating attacking display.Peter Crouch scored a hat-trick and there were also goals for Jermain Defoe and Robbie Keane, much to the delight of Redknapp."It was a terrific result for us, I though this was a very tough draw for us and people were tipping this as a possible upset," Redknapp told Sky Sports."It was a difficult match but we put it to bed and to score five goals away from home is a terrific performance."Irvine reactionPreston manager Alan Irvine was left to admit there was a huge gulf in terms of finishing after his side squandered a number of glorious chances, with recalled Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes also in fine form.Irvine said: "We had a lot of chances and a lot of attempts at goal. "Their goalkeeper made some very good saves and we probably wasted some very good chances, maybe better chances than the ones they scored with."But maybe that is the difference, the quality of their front players is there for everyone to see."
