Collins out of Spurs clash

Preston boss Alan Irvine will be without on-loan Wolves defender Neill Collins for the Carling Cup third-round home clash with Tottenham. Collins played for Wolves against Swindon in the previous round of the competition and is therefore ineligible to face Harry Redknapp's men. Youl Mawene looks set to be drafted back into the starting line-up alongside Liam Chilvers but Irvine remains short of bodies. Left-back Callum Davidson is ruled out for several weeks with a torn hamstring and midfielder Barry Nicholson remains a long-term absentee with a broken leg. Winger Paul Parry also tore a hamstring in the recent 2-0 home win over Swansea and is set to remain sidelined. Striker Neil Mellor was withdrawn in Saturday's victory against Coventry due to cramp but is expected to be passed fit.
