// A bit of a hack but it works// The article snippet is wrapped onto a second line, even when #article-sub is emptyif( $("div#article-sub").children().length == 0 ) {$("div#article-sub").remove();} Chelsea's French scout Guy Hillion, the man who discovered Gael Kakuta, insists the club did nothing wrong when they signed him. Fifa have ruled against Chelsea and Kakuta after Lens reported them over the move, which took place in 2007.As well as handing out big fines, Fifa banned Chelsea from signing any players until 2011. The London giants are appealing this decision.Hillion has revealed that Kakuta's mother told them that no contract had been signed with his previous club Lens - prior to his move to Stamford Bridge. The widower later unveiled paperwork which is understood to be a pre-contract, but she has since claimed ignorance of what this agreement meant. "His mother is widowed and was responsible for five children and had big financial difficulties," Hillion told La Voix du Nord."When we started to talk about a possible move to Chelsea, we asked her if she had ever signed anything with Lens. "She promised she had signed nothing, nothing at all. Six months later, sorting out her papers, she found a pre-contract. She didn't even know what it was."Hillion also hit back at French clubs, who he says are just trying to make money out of their young players."French clubs try to appear as the innocent victims," he continued. "But that is a caricature. It is just a money matter." Hillion also claims that last week an agent working for Le Havre chairman Jean-Pierre Louvel contacted him about signing their best young player, believed to be Gueida Fofana."A few weeks ago, an agent called me for Le Havre chairman Jean-Pierre Louvel, to know if I was attracted by their best young player, a French international born in 1991," he claimed. "They wanted to sell him for a nice sum (about €4 millions). Morally they were not been disturbed a young player could join England for such a fee."
