Martinez: We can beat big four

Wigan manager Roberto Martinez intends to take the game to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium and has no plans to hang on for a draw.Confidence is rising within the squad again after they ended a four-match losing streak - including three Barclays Premier League matches - with a win at home to West Ham.Although it was far from a complete performance, Martinez is confident his side can compete with the Gunners in a game of open football. The Spaniard's first encounter with one of the 'big four' ended in a 5-0 home defeat to Manchester United, although the champions scored all their goals in the last half-hour.But Martinez believes that experience allowed his side to learn some important lessons and said: "e are not there yet. There are many things we need to do better and we are conscious of that. When you get a win against a side like West Ham it gives you great confidence but we are still in a transition process."We just hope over the next three or four weeks we will fulfil our potential. But if you go into a match against the top four looking for damage limitation with bodies behind the ball you don't learn anything. The hope is, slowly, one day we will be able to challenge these sides. The worst thing you can do is go in there with a negative approach."
