Emmanuel Adebayor a 'bit naughty' says Manchester City fan Ricky Hatton

Hatton, a box-holder at Eastlands, but who was not at the match because he had been in South Africa attending meetings with the CEO of his company Gareth Williams, said: “I did manage to watch it over there. Obviously he was a bit naughty when he went over there to the Arsenal fans.” Hatton added: “Certainly you can’t go over there to the away supporters and wind them up like that and he had a few little naughty tackles and stuff like that. But when you are playing your former club it can get heated.” “Adebayor has taken a little bit of stick. Everyone said he left Arsenal for the money. So he is probably a frustrated man, and tempers were very heated as it was City v Arsenal. "I understand why he’s done it but there’s still really no excuse and he deserves a slap on the wrist.” City will continue talks with their legal team on Wednesday in an effort to draw up a battle plan to spare Adebayor from a potential four-match suspension following two charges of violent conduct and improper conduct as a result of his actions in the tempestuous 4-2 victory at Eastlands. City and Adebayor have yet to respond to the charge of violent conduct brought about by his alleged stamping on Robin van Persie. And although it appears likely his suspension for this charge will not be extended beyond three matches, City will explore all legal possibilities before Wednesday’s 6pm deadline. A second charge of improper conduct relating to Adebayor’s goal celebration will be contested by City.
