The Three Lions booked their place in next year's South Africa finals with a thumping 5-1 win over Croatia at Wembley on Wednesday, with two games still remaining in the group.Hodgson, who has international managerial experience with Switzerland and Finland, was quick to praise the England team for their performance, and in particular the job of coach Fabio Capello."Well it's excellent, an excellent performance," he said. "There's no easy matches at international level, it doesn't matter who you're playing against it's always difficult. "Even the teams I remember playing with Finland, the Azerbaijans, the Armenians, the Kazakhstans - they're teams that Western European nations are supposed to able to beat easily but it certainly isn't an easy game to beat them away from home.Impressed"So for England getting eight out of eight is quite fantastic and I've also been very impressed by the manner of the victories."England travel to Ukraine and then host Belarus in October knowing that qualification is already secured, giving Capello time to experiment with certain players and new formations."During the time Fabio's been working with the team the team has got stronger as a team," Hodgson added."Their patterns of play get more and more developed and a 5-1 victory against any nation is a fantastic achievement and to do it against a nation like Croatia is even more impressive. "So I would think like most football people in the country I'm really impressed by what's been done and I'm delighted that England are going to be in South Africa."
