Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is backing new England hero Aaron Lennon to be "a world beater" after the Tottenham winger played a major role in the win over Croatia which clinched a spot at the 2010 World Cup.
Lennon has started the season in fine form for Tottenham and he continued in that vein as England won 5-1 at Wembley to book their place in South Africa next summer.
The right-winger played a major role in the opening two goals for Lampard and Steven Gerrard and was a constant threat before leaving the pitch to a standing ovation in the final minutes.
The 22-year-old capped the night by being voted man of the match by the England fans present at the game.
Lampard said: "I think Aaron is a fantastic player. He can be as good as he wants to be. He can be an absolute world beater.
"When he plays like he did in that game, no-one can touch him and we are fortunate that we have got a few players with that same sort of ability. You can't beat having pace and people who can beat people like Aaron did on this occasion."
