Gordon out of Dutch clash

Craig Gordon has been ruled out of Scotland's crucial World Cup qualifying clash with Holland on Wednesday. The Sunderland goalkeeper is suffering from a thigh injury and sat out of training on Monday. Manager George Burley had given the 26-year-old as much time as possible to recover but it has now been confirmed the shot-stopper will miss the match at Hampden Park. The news will come as a blow to Burley especially after the former Hearts ace appeared in fine form against Macedonia at the weekend. Cardiff City keeper David Marshall is now in line to collect just his fourth cap in a game the Scots must win to give themselves a realistic chance of qualifying for the play-offs. Marshall played in the fateful 4-0 defeat to Norway last month and has conceded 11 goals in his previous three outings for the national team.
