McCarthy lifted by Kightly return

Kightly is yet to kick a ball for Mick McCarthy's side this season after battling back from hip surgery and a broken metatarsal. The 23-year-old is now back in full training, although McCarthy has hinted he will not return to action this weekend against Rovers. "Kightly was back in full training yesterday, which is good news," he told the Express and Star. "We'll have to see what happens in terms of a game because he's still nowhere near the real Kights yet. "We'll just make sure he's alright and doesn't get frustrated with himself, but he's fine." One player who will not be available for the weekend trip to Ewood Park is captain Jody Craddock after he injured his hamstring in training. Craddock is likely to sit out their following match against Fulham meaning McCarthy can partner Christophe Berra and Michael Mancienne at the back. "Jody's hurt his hamstring," confirmed McCarthy. "He strained it during training last week and will be out for another week or so."
