How will Spain fair without David Villa?

Villa made his first appearance for Spain in 2004 and since then has become one of Spains biggest assets in recent history, having played 82 games for his country and scoring 51 goals in that time.So how do Spain's chances of success in 2012 look after Villa picked up a serious injury and will be out of action for up to 6 months.Villa is Spain's top goal scorer of all time and with an average goal ratio of 0.621.With the news that he is out of action, who can Spain rely on now ?If you were to ask this question in 2009 the obvious answer would be Fernando Torres, but in recent years as many of you will know his career has been desecrated after signing for Chelsea. The Spanish are surprisingly quite limited on strikers, but with perhaps the Worlds strongest selection of midfield players goals can be provided by the likes of David Silva, Iniesta and Juan Mata.Without a recognised goalscorer, Spain’s biggest problem will be trying to find some new talent to replace David Villa, they have relied on him to score goals in the past but for Euro 2012 they will have to think of new strategies to cover his loss. They need to look no further than La Liga to find new strikers or to look at players with little experience who are regularly on good form.Fernando Llorente has played 19 times for Spain and scored 7 goals, he currently plays for Athletico Bilbao.Another Striker to look at is Barcelona's Pedro Rodriguez who has also played 15 games but he has only scored 2 goals, but at the age of 24 he could have a bright future ahead of him as he burst onto the scene at the 2010 World Cup.Spain have got options, they may be limited but they are there, just because Villa is gone doesn’t mean they cant re work themselves and retain their European crown.
