Arsenal to appeal Eduardo ban

Arsenal have confirmed they will appeal against the two-match ban imposed on Eduardo by Uefa. Uefa charged the striker with "deceiving the referee" when earning his side a penalty in last week's UEFA Champions League play-off win over Celtic. The Gunners responded to the announcement by stating their "deep frustration" with the decision. Arsenal have now released a further statement on their official website that confirms an appeal will be lodged against Uefa's verdict. It read: "The club is in receipt of Uefa's reasoned decision in relation to the charge against Eduardo. "We strongly believe that the decision taken is deeply flawed and not based on any forensic review of the video evidence available. "There are obvious errors and inconsistencies in Uefa's judgment and we intend to appeal."
