Real Madrid Keen On Ex-Northampton Loanee?

Kyle Walker's Meteoric Rise ContinuesThe full-back, who made his senior debut in football as a Northampton loanee against Oldham Athletic in November 2008, recently made his England bow and looked as though he had been playing international football for a long time, staking a claim to be included in Fabio Capello's Euro 2012 squad. Now Real Madrid are said to be keen on the 21-year-old following his excellent displays for Tottenham. Recalling his time at Sixfields, Walker told the London Evening Standard recently: "On my first day, we had two training sessions. In the first, we all wore the standard Northampton training kit but in the second, we just wore T-shirts with the 'Kick It Out' logo on the front, and ordinary pairs of shorts and socks. There was no Northampton badge or anything because they didn't have a spare set of training kit. It was a reality check for me but a very good one. "There were players there whose mortgages were on the line and winning football matches made it easier for them to look after their families. You could tell how passionate some of the senior players were by what they did to hang on to the result if we were winning, chucking themselves in front of everything to stop the ball going in."
