Former Blues boss Claudio Ranieri replaces Luciano Spalletti at Roma

Claudio Ranieri, the former Chelsea manager, is the new coach of Roma after Luciano Spalletti resigned following defeats in their opening two Serie A games. Rome-born Ranieri, 57, had been out of work since being sacked by Juventus two games before the end of last season, whenthe club finished second behind Inter Milan.  Ranieri, a former Roma player, was Chelsea boss from 2000-04, guiding the club to second in the Premier League and the Champions League semi-final, but was replaced by Jose Mourinho as the Roman Abramovich revolution got into full swing.
