Claudio Ranieri, the former Chelsea manager, is the new coach of Roma after Luciano Spalletti resigned following defeats in their opening two Serie A games.
Rome-born Ranieri, 57, had been out of work since being sacked by Juventus two games before the end of last season, whenthe club finished second behind Inter Milan.
Ranieri, a former Roma player, was Chelsea boss from 2000-04, guiding the club to second in the Premier League and the Champions League semi-final, but was replaced by Jose Mourinho as the Roman Abramovich revolution got into full swing.
