STOKE have completed a transfer deadline day swoop for defender Danny Collins.
Collins leaves the Stadium of Light for £2.75m despite starting the season as Sunderland's captain.
The 29-year-old, whose fee could rise to £3.5m, has exited the Black Cats less than 24 hours after Steve Bruce bought centre-half Michael Turner from Hull for an initial fee of £6.5m.
Collins follows Uruguayan Diego Arismendi, Robert Huth, Tuncay and Dean Whitehead into the Britannia Stadium.
Potters boss Tony Pulis said: "Danny has been Sunderlands player of the year for the past two seasons which speaks volumes for the impact he has had at that level."
