Luka Modric set for new Tottenham contract worth £100k per week

Luka Modric is a step closer to committing his future to Tottenham with the club set to agree terms on a contract worth ?100,000 per week. The Croatia midfielder was the subject of a high-profile transfer wrangle with Chelsea last summer but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy managed to keep his man at White Hart Lane. And now the ?40million-rated Modric is set to become Spurs' first ?100k-a-week player when the deal is put on the table next summer, although the bumper package is conditional on Champions League qualification this season, according to the Evening Standard.
