Defender quits Black Cats
Sunderland have confirmed that defender Paul McShane has joined Hull City for an undisclosed fee thought to be around £1.5m. The Republic of Ireland international has joined Phil Brown's side on a four-year deal. The 26-year-old spent time on loan with Hull last season to help the Tigers retain their Premier League status. McShane had not figured for the Black Cats this season. He joined Sunderland two years ago when former boss Roy Keane agreed a £1.5m fee with West Bromwich Albion .
