// A bit of a hack but it works// The article snippet is wrapped onto a second line, even when #article-sub is emptyif( $("div#article-sub").children().length == 0 ) {$("div#article-sub").remove();} Eddie Johnson claims he is ready to prove his Fulham worth after an education in the Championship last season. The USA international checked in at Craven Cottage last term, but found life difficult in London and was farmed out to Cardiff to acclimatise to the hurly-burly nature that is English football. After a physical loan spell with the Bluebirds and a full pre-season under his belt, Johnson feels he now has the necessary experience to make an impact in the Premier League. The 25-year-old's first chance to impress could come on Sunday, when Roy Hodgson's side make the trip to the Midlands to take on Aston Villa. With Andy Johnson facing a lengthy lay-off through injury, namesake Eddie is hoping he will get the chance to shine in the Cottagers' attack. He told the Daily Star Sunday: "I want to show Fulham fans that I am here to score goals and play an important role."Pre-season went really well for me. The manager told me that he signed me for a reason and that I have everything that he is looking for."It's just a matter of me putting those aspects into practice. My nine months at Cardiff City gave me the chance to get used to English football. It has opened my eyes to another style of football."
