Carew - I'm going nowhere

// A bit of a hack but it works// The article snippet is wrapped onto a second line, even when #article-sub is emptyif( $("div#article-sub").children().length == 0 ) {$("div#article-sub").remove();} John Carew insists there has been no untoward agenda behind his omission from two key Aston Villa games and the striker has confirmed he is fever-free and itching to get onto the Villa Park pitch to face Fulham on Sunday. The rangy forward is expected to make his first Premier League start this term after a bout of illness which forced the giant Norwegian to miss the opening-day defeat to Wigan and the European reverse at Rapid Vienna. The 30-year-old has been the subject of intense transfer speculation following his absence from Martin O'Neill's squad, but the much-travelled striker returned to the starting XI in midweek and scored against Vienna in the return leg.His goal was not enough to prevent Villa from failing to qualify for the Europa League group phase, but Carew is keen to pull a rabbit out of a hat this weekend when the Cottagers come to town.He told the Sunday Mirror: "There is no drama, no Hocus Pocus, nothing going on behind the scenes any more dramatic than that I had a fever."I'm fine again, I've been back in training for a couple of days, was back in the team and hope to be again."Regarding the rumour mill which has been circulating of late Carew said: "If you are telling me that there's rumours and stories on the internet then I don't know about them. If you haven't read things like that, then they don't need to worry you."I love the fans here and I'm just happy that they seem so pleased to have me back in the team because the welcome I got (against Vienna) was terrific."
