// A bit of a hack but it works// The article snippet is wrapped onto a second line, even when #article-sub is emptyif( $("div#article-sub").children().length == 0 ) {$("div#article-sub").remove();} Everton boss David Moyes is hoping more funds will be released to strengthen his squad before the close of the transfer window. Moyes has been quick to splash out some of the £24million brought in by selling Joleon Lescott after finalising deals for Sylvain Distin and Diniyar Bilyaletdinov.Atletico Madrid defender Johnny Heitinga is a £6million target, while Tottenham Hotspur midfielder David Bentley has also been linked with a move to Goodison Park. With the deadline looming on Tuesday, Moyes has spoken to chairman Bill Kenwright about securing more money to improve his squad."With the position Everton are in, I think we should be entitled to go out and spend the cash," said Moyes. "We have made a profit in the last couple of years."We have finished fifth two years in a row. I might be at a different level to other clubs, but we have to be able to reinvest and go back into the market."We want a club which keeps aiming to progress, so I'm going to push the board really hard not just to spend the Joleon money but to spend more."You can't be at the top of the league and want to be at the top of the league and not invest in the team. The team needs investment."Bill is doing everything he can to get me the money because we don't have a big financial backer."
