Southgate frustrated by defeat

Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate admitted the last-gasp 2-1 defeat to Bristol City had come as a bitter blow after a difficult week. Adam Johnson's 80th-minute penalty cancelled out Nicky Maynard's opener and had looked like earning Boro a draw until Maynard grabbed his second deep in stoppage time. "As we had come back into it with a penalty, this result is very hard to take," he said. Southgate watched Robert Huth and Sanli Tuncay leave for Stoke this week and warned there may be more departures before the transfer window closes. He added: "We came here for a result ahead of the transfer deadline which could see players leaving. "I've lost Robert Huth and Tuncay to Stoke City and more could be going and it doesn't look as if I'll have money to spend."
