Ismael starts coaching career at Hanover

Former Bayern Munich star Valerien Ismael has begun his career as a football coach after being named the coach for German league side Hanover 96's Under-23 team.The 36-year-old Frenchman, who also played for Strasbourg, Crystal Palace and Werder Bremen before ending his career at Hanover in 2009, will study for his coaching licence next month and has a three-year contract."This is a great opportunity for Vale to continue his impressive professional career on the pitch," said Hanover's director of sport Joerg Schmadtke."I am convinced that he can be a good coach with his experience and qualities and I wish him plenty of success."Having made 113 appearances in the Bundesliga, scoring eight goals, Ismael won the German league and cup double with Bremen in 2004 and Bayern in 2006.
