Burnley v Reading preview

Team news ahead of Saturday afternoon's Championship clash between Burnley and Reading at Turf Moor. Burnley will check on the fitness of defender David Edgar ahead of the game.Edgar only returned from international duty with Canada on Thursday after playing in his country's 0-0 draw with Puerto Rico on Tuesday evening and following a lengthy flight, he will be assessed by the club's medical staff.Despite the international break, none of Burnley's four major injury problems have been able to recover enough to be involved against the Royals.Striker Martin Paterson and defender Michael Duff have returned to training following respective thigh and knee injuries, but they are not yet in a position to be considered for selection. The road to recovery is a longer one for goalkeeper Brian Jensen (groin) and attacker Danny Ings (knee), though, and they are still some way away from fitness.Reading are hopeful winger Jimmy Kebe will be fit for the game. The Malian hobbled off during the Royals 2-0 victory over Doncaster on September 17 and has not featured for the club since. But Kebe was due back in training on Thursday and manager Brian McDermott could include him in his squad to travel to Lancashire. However, goalkeeper Alex McCarthy - who has established himself as Reading's number two stopper recently - has taken a knock in training and may not be fit to take his place on the bench.Midfielder Jordan Obita has recovered from injury during the international break and could feature.Reading are looking to extend their unbeaten run in the Championship to four games at Turf Moor.
