// A bit of a hack but it works// The article snippet is wrapped onto a second line, even when #article-sub is emptyif( $("div#article-sub").children().length == 0 ) {$("div#article-sub").remove();} Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie has admitted he has considered quitting the club, but insists he wants to stay at Fratton Park. Storrie has been left disappointed by recent events at the club after a consortium he put together missed out on buying the South Coast outfit.Sacha Gaydamak sold the club to Sulaiman Al Fahim after weeks of uncertainty over the takeover deal.Storrie had worked to bring in another possible purchaser from Saudi Arabia and he was unhappy Gaydamak sold the club to Al Fahim without informing him of his decision."We were under the impression that on Wednesday morning we were going to sign and complete (the takeover)," Storrie told Sky Sports News."Unbeknown to us, I now discover that Sulaiman got involved again on the Tuesday.Shock"He [Gaydamak] told me that he had decided to sell the club to Sulaiman. It was a big shock and a big disappointment."Despite the setback, Storrie claimed he wanted to remain in his current post.He said: "I'm still chief executive of a football club and it's a club I feel very passionate about."I still want very much to be a part of Portsmouth Football Club."My interest in the whole of this was not to have two rival bids. My interest was to make sure Portsmouth Football Club was safe and at that time I could not see where Sulaiman was completing and where the funds were coming from to complete from Sulaiman."My priority was to make sure at least someone was available to put money in the club and that is what I did with this group so you can imagine they are pretty miffed at the moment - they are not happy."I think just the way the whole thing was done that has really irked everyone."ResigningAsked if he considered resigning from his post in the wake of the events, Storrie said: "I did yesterday, yes. "It's something you can never rule out as a possibility but I just want to see what the way forward is under this situation."I don't want to quit. To be quite frank I have put seven years hard work into this club and the last 12 months have been most draining of my life keeping this club afloat and I am quite proud of what I have done to keep it alive."I don't think many people could have done that and I would not like to see that go to waste."I would like to stay and continue and I have been working on players for the last few days."Sulaiman wants me to stay so I will see what he has to say and his group has to say over the weekend."
