Robins extend Butland loan stay

Highly-rated Birmingham goalkeeper Jack Butland has extended his loan stay at Cheltenham for another two months. The 18-year-old, who has already broken into England's Under-21s ranks, joined the League Two club last month and will now remain until December 11.Butland quickly established himself as number one at Cheltenham under manager Mark Yates, who played for Blues for three years between 1988 and 1991.He started five league matches, keeping two clean sheets, but has missed the Robins' last two games having played for Stuart Pearce's Under-21s against Iceland and Norway.Boss Yates told Cheltenham's official website: "We wanted to keep Jack as long as we could and Birmingham have been brilliant. They appreciate he's getting games and the lad is really enjoying it."He's getting a taste of league football and the agreement suits both ourselves and Birmingham."
